Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978 in London (Ontario, Canada) to Sandra Kay (Gale), who works as
a nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver and furniture mover.
Rachel is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel started acting at the age of
thirteen. She was already acting in Shakespearean productions at summer theater
camps. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in Theater.
After her debut on television in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson in 1998,
Rachel was a part of Canadian television's Slings and Arrows 2003. The
comedy-drama follows the struggle of Shakespearean theater groups. Rachel was
awarded the Gemini Award for her performance in 2003. Her breakthrough role in
Mean Girls (2004) as Regina George instantly landed her on the list of
Hollywood's most sought-after of promising young actors. After that she was
cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas
Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a huge hit at the box
office and quickly became the most loved romantic drama for an audience of
young people. McAdams and Gosling were in love during filming and continued to
be together until the middle of 2007. McAdams and Gosling soon found themselves
engaged and began to meet. McAdams appeared in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State
of Play (2008) and State of Play (2008), respectively. She also appeared in the
film The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's
worldwide hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the shrewd producer of
Morning Glory (2010). She also was the fiancee with a materialistic character
Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to
romantic drama with The Vow (2012), in which she was a co-star with Channing
Tatum. McAdams is also in the film with Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012)
and Noomi Rapace in Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma's thriller.
