Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida
on the 30th of November 1977. He is an American electro house music producer
and record producer. He is also a D.J. Music executive. He is the third son of
Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, a former wrestler, also co-founded
the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two siblings, a sister Kana (who is
sometimes referred to by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of the
Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was
born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High
School, where he was a member of the varsity badminton team. Then, he attended
UC Santa Barbara, graduating with two B.A. He was awarded two bachelor's
degrees, one in feminist studies and the other in Sociology. He was a student
at the college who produced records by himself and also held underground shows
in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle
Patch became a performance venue when the building was named The Pickle Patch.
He also was involved in student activism at UCSB. He established a
Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. He had also started
his own record label during his 20s. It was named Dim Mak which was named after
his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. The band released I'm in the House in March
2010 as a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq who is the alter-ego of will.i.am
from The Black Eyed Peas. It hit the top spot at No. The track reached No. 29
on the U.K. Singles Chart within its first week of launch. It later entered the
U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both
charts. The track was featured on an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore. It also was
included in Piranha, the feature film Piranha, and the trailer for Think Like A
Man. The interview with HitQuarters in May of 2010 with Lucas Secon revealed
that Rivers Cuomo and the singer had recently collaborated on a single. In
2012, Pollstar designated him as the top-grossing dancer in North America from
tours. He has worked with artists like Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin
Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise
Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's known for remixes with artists
like Kid Cudi
