Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields was born on May 31 on the 31st of May, 1965. As a child model, she was praised by critics when she played the lead role in Louis Malle’s movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her late teens and appeared in a variety of dramas in the 80s, including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields stopped her career as a model to go to Princeton University, where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields began acting again in the late 1990s, and appeared in minor parts in movies. She also appeared on the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), for which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). Shields returned to NBC in 2017 with an ongoing role as a Law & Order: Special Victims character from the 19th season of the show. From 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She is the daughter of model and actress Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). Based on William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields was a descendent of numerous noble families of Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite and an Italian prince. Her great-uncle was Italian nobleman Alessandro Torlonia, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain.When Teri announced that she was pregnant, the family of Frank offered her a sum of money to end the pregnancy.
