Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage writer and actor, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. Her older brothers are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who have also been actors. Evan and her brothers acted at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh, where her father serves as the director. She was five when she auditioned for the role of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). With her mother and brother Ira, she moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Since her arrival, she has had success in television series as well as movies on TV and feature films. She's been in Practical Magic (1998) and starred in the comedy S1m0ne (2002) as the daughter of Al Pacino, and then followed it up with Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her performance as Tracy in "Thirteen," which she performed in, earned her a nomination from the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama, as well as a nomination from Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor In an Leading Role. When she received the award from SAG, she was the youngest actress in the Leading Role category. Her performance in the role of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred, Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy nomination and the Golden Globe award. Acclaim was also given to her performance as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood. Younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a certified dancer. She is a lover of dancing and sing, as well as rollblade and ride horses. She is an black belt in tae Kwon Do. Is still in touch with most of her Once and Again (1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan, and Shane West.
