Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born October 1st 1969) is an American comedian, actor as well as a musician and writer. He was a performer, comedian as well as a host on Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis has been a star in a number of films that include The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014), and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis has voiced characters in animated films like Puss In Boots (2011) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). He also voiced Missing Link (2019) and Ron's Gone Wrong (2211). Galifianakis is currently the host of the Funny or Die talk show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. He was a star in FX's show Baskets. In 2017 his nomination was for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor for the Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st of October, 1969. He is the son of community arts center manager Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil vendor Harry Galifianakis. His mother is Scottish-Irish and English descent, and his paternal grandparents were Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized into the father's Greek Orthodox faith. He has Merritt who is a younger sibling and Greg who is his older brother. His cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist and his uncle Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was educated at Wilkes Central High School and later went to North Carolina State University where she studied communications. Galifianakis worked for a public radio station during his time at college. He taught the waltz class, in 1991 when he walked into a meeting with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was one of the Saturday Night Live host for two weeks following his TV debut in Boston Common. He's said "I did work for Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Britney Spears was the host one week when I was doing it. I sketched a picture. Will Ferrell was to serve as her bodyguard on the belly button. We were going to shrink Will to fit into the belly button. When I explained the idea to her, she just looked at the sketch. Then she replied, "Yeah, that's funny." Galifianakis co-starred in the film Out Cold, and had small roles in Corky Romano, Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers, Into the Wild, Super High Me, Little Fish Strange Pond and Largo.
